Also....the weather station at the airstrip on Highway 57 on the west side of Priest had a low of 5 on Thursday and a low of 4 on Friday.  Thought there could be more ice on Chase than the 1.5 but it’s a start.

Drove by Twin Lakes Saturday 12-8-18 around 3PM . About 90+ % open water. Very small amount skimmed over in very isolated areas.

Thanks, I was wondering about that body of water. Should have stopped by myself when I drove through on Saturday but I took the route through Rathdrum instead of CDa.

I heard rumor of a fair haired high school boy that walked across freeman lake last week on a dare, he had no safety gear or plan to get out if he went through, I guess lucky for him he was light enough that he didn’t fall through but if he keeps it up, Darwin will catch up to him.

I stopped at Round lake today about noon.  1/2 - 1 inch of ice at the boat ramp.  The whole lake was iced over.  Not great, but its a start.

Forecast shows things shaping up right before Christmas with lows in teens.  Pray for ice.

Should start to form again this weekend and into next week, I would think. The forecast looks pretty good.

Merry xmas everyone, I posted conditions for dawson on the r&c board yesterday and will be checking some more boundary county waters today for ice. The weather forecast is looking pretty good. Be safe out there.

Checked ice on 3 more lakes today, perkins and bonner lakes have maybe 2  1/2  inches of soft ice, I did not go out very far because I didn't feel it's safe, they also have 2 inches snow on top insulating the ice so it needs a few day's yet. checked smith lake and it has 5 inches of ice, might hit that one tomorrow. merry xmas and stay safe

Checked Round lake out today.  Totally frozen over.  Popped 5 holes around the dock and it was from 3/4 to an inch thick.  Were getting closer...

The east gate was open.  Roads and parking lot plowed.   Looking good.  Just need some more cold.

There are two roads that lead into that park from Dufort. One at the base of the small rise that leads through the campsites before ending up at the lake. The other is on top of the rise and leads past a pay station. I imagine the one you saw gated was the one at the top of the rise with the pay station?
