If you can catch some smelt, use them for bait.  I use suckers for lake trout here if I don't have smelt.

A few inches of snow on ice.  No access points for trucks to get on.

Shouldn't have any issues with ice. There's been a good ice for the last month or so. Not sure what the snow conditions will be but when i was there last week, we had well over 10" in most spots. ATVs and Sleds tracks were all over and with the subzero temps this past weekend, im sure there will be plenty up there for a long while. Lakers were very picky but i spoke to a local ECO officer who said he had talked to a few guys who had been doing well. Smelt for tip ups is definitely the way to go if you can jig them up. Perch have been steady whenever ive made it up there, with a good school moving thru every 20 minutes or so

Heading up for the Indian Lake tournament this Saturday 2/23. By chance is there parking for truck and trailer and ATV access at the launch? My legs and back aren't what they used to be. Looking forward to seeing lots of nice fish come up, even if it's not me. Thanks for any intel.

The boat launch at Indian Lake Islands Campsite is plowed, get their early to get your truck and trailer parked ok.  There is also a couple of pull offs just north of the campsite entrance that are plowed.

Considering There was less then 10 pike caught on Adirondack last year out of 200 people I don’t think it was a bad idea to move it

Parking may be an issue but I hope the tournament goes off without a hitch. I thank the organizers of the tournament for trying to make a change for the better with the fishing slowing down so bad on Adirondack. Hopefully everyone who does come out has a good time and lands some fish. Good luck to those who support the derby

Thanks for the heads up.I have a couple of guys riding up with me to eliminate a couple of vehicles. Have there been many atv's on the lake? I just want to make sure I stay on top of the ice, I hear it's pretty thick but still best to ask. Thanks again!

20-22 inches of ice.  ATV's and snowmobiles have been using the lake.  3-5 inches of snow on ice.

Once again, Thanks for the assistance. I don't get the opportunity to get out ice fishing much. Good people like you are valuable to part timers like myself. Tight lines and much luck to you!
