Looked like the main body has lock-up on the web camera by this morning. Single didget temps with no snow, should grow an inch of ice overnight.  ;)2

How’s it going guys, I live about 2 hours from Honeoye. If it happens to lock up a bit more this week is it worth making the drive next weekend? Never fished it before. I’m trying to decide on going to Honeoye or silver? Any info is appreciated. Thanks

Pm sent bowhunter... fishin wasn't any different than the usual day on honeoye.. i guess you can take that n analyze it anyway you wish.. some gills made it to the bucket for a few out there. We iced a few game fish that ended up heading home with us .. was a beautiful day on the hardwater, but hey what day isn't

Any fishable ice yet on the south end? I'm 2 1/2 hours a way and would like to get out Friday or Saturday but don't want to waste my time driving there if there isn't any safe ice! Any info would be appreciated!

Any ice reports on Trident or Sandy Bottom? (I know about the gas pockets at the North end and I know to avoid them) Just wondering how access is away from Bluegill Central (or the State launch)
Thanks

A solid 6" of ice where we were today.  Looked like quite the village on the south end.  A few guys scattered over deeper water.  Two guys fishing together close to us got into a knockdown drag out fist fight.  We're pretty sure they were brothers.  The bigger guy was sitting on the other's chest beating knots on his head.  Little guy finally shut his mouth and was last seen walking south till he was out of sight.  The other guy spent an hour picking up all their gear before heading out.   Lots of entertainment for the price of admission.

Wow. Must be the lake effect.  I watched the same thing a few years back on the lake near Trident.  Amazingly stupid.

Any good recommendations on a few universal jigging lures for Honeoye? I am headin to runnings and hope to hit the lake in the coming weeks. It might be at night, but hope to get out and relax. I have a few shark spoons and mcgathy slab grabbers, and I want to grab a few more, thinkin pimples and raps, but I color and size would be helpful. THQQQ

Here are my favorites:

Jigging Raps in firetiger and metallic perch in size 3 and 5
Buchshot rattle jigs in Firetiger and clown in 1/4oz.

I beat the crap out of myself on Friday, but still couldn't find anything better than 9" perch.
