What’s your plan for April 1st if you have the choice? Stream trout fishing or continue the ice fishing season.
-
Work! LOL
-
What's everyone's go to stream rig/lure for trout? Mine's a Panther Martin or a micro green & silver spoon
-
I'm in pa and no choice. Crappies aren't bitting , no ice on the lakes I fish, most lakes are stocked with trout. Use to go to the west branch of the delaware opening day not worth the 60 mile drive for 2 trout. If i where u i go trout fishing in the morning and ice fishing in the afternoon.
-
Ice fishing until last safe ice.
-
Work...if I had choice stream fish
-
you can only keep 5 fish and only 2 can be 12 inches ...your better off ice fishing
-
Depends on what steam or creek you fish
-
that's the general state regulations of course there is special regulations for some waters but I don't know of any water you can keep more then 5 is there????
-
I’ll ice it
-
Ice fishing until last safe ice.
Ill be right there with ya bill
-
Wow, it's all about the numbers for some guys. My success is based on being out there. Not being dissapointed in driving 60 miles for 2 trout
-
Majority of my stream fishing for trout is catch & release -- in April with cold water temps (mid 40s), I have typically caught my biggest fish (Browns), on a large Black Woolly Bugger bead-head...!
-
Wind permitting most likely in the boat. Moved it from the backyard to the driveway and scrubbed it clean and charged batteries yesterday afternoon. It's time to put a hurting on some finger lakes perch. I will have a rod ready to throw a spoon at any trout though.
-
If I'm going to be out there I'd like to be able to keep more than 2 fish larger than 12" - whether I do or not is my choice that way. You can have both.
exactly other then a few brookie trout they are all put and take fish .... we pay for the hatchery and stocking let us keep 10 if ya need more money say so ......
and it is all about the numbers if you say I went and got skunked but had fun people say nice you throw 50 huge perch on the ice and get a picture people say WAY TO GO or GOOD JOB.......
when I have a fish fry I don't serve fish sticks
-
No waiting for April 1st here. Local steams are open year round and heavily stocked

you're half right, the regulation is 5 fish any size for trout, quoted straight out of the 2019/2020 state regulations.
-
I put in for PTO months ago, will be on the streams Monday thru Wednesday. Hoping i can hit all my streams before they get stocked.

You are right on the "State wide regulation" in regions 6, 7, 8, 9 "Special regulations by county" which include most if not all counties the regulation is:
All waters except specified, Trout - April 1 through Oct 15 Any size 5 - with no more than 2 longer than 12"
Know the laws and read the guide. With that said "It's time to go hit up the stream."

U guys catch those trout up 😊 I'll fill up on my 25 of these a day for the next couple months
-
I know i'm stepping on a lot of toes but ...crappies are my least favorite panfish to eat the fillets are mushy and fall apart when you fry them unless you leave the skin on ...still the textor is mushy and are bland I rather eat perch or blue gills and one of my personal favorite rock bass.......... oh I love trout :D
-
;D that's crappy that you don't like crappie ::)
-
not that I dislike them it's that I like other fish a lot better ...I like firm fish I rather eat perch over walleye any day as well
-
i agree with trap but ive never tried rockbass
-
Oneida your welcome to come to our fish frys any time bobbers bluegills and beer and in the spring rock bass to boot

I can agree with you on the crappie taste front. They are a duifferent texture, for sure; I don't have a problem with the fillets falling apart, IDK. They are fun to catch though. :P
-
their all fun to catch ;D .......... heck when I was a kid I remember no one cared about strawberrys till they found out they could sell them ..... guys use to cut them up for catfish bait.................. blue gills weren't a big deal either ..... infisherman changed the way people viewed panfish ...... perch were always a desired fish
-
WNY everything high, fast and brown.
-
Zeker you and trapp missed something , I’d tell ya but that would take the fun out of it lets see who finds it first in 1 of the 7-8 or 9 regions , 😉
