I like Forest City Tip Ups or Jacks Traps, they are a little pricey but you will have them a lifetime. Spend the money on quality and you only cry once.
a have also been using HT polars for decades. the same ones! if that isnt quality im not sure what is. lol
I was just wondering if anyone is still making good quality tip ups, since Beaver Dam has gone with that set screw in the side of the spool (who wants to strip all the line off, every time you add grease.) it’s been so long since I have bought a tip up, I don’t have a clue. I have older Beaver Dams and Frabills. I think Frabill’s quality has declined also.
Jack Traps are excellent. As far as the set-screw on the Beaver Dam spools. Do people actually melt solder and re-solder the older Beaver Dam spools with the line still on them?
Take the top T parts off pull spool and shaft out no soldering required
Anyone try clam’s blue ice tip up? Thoughts?
I love my 40ups cant find them anywhere now that they are gone. There was a set on ebay last week for 70 bucks that were probably as old as me
