How does the NorthWest Corner look ? anyone???
« on: Feb 16, 2018, 06:10 AM »
hi there.   Looking to take my daughter out for a "last run" tomorrow...  Not a fan of planking onto the ice (at least with the kids)   Any good ice left ?  Dog, Tyler, Stillwater, Burr, Wood Creek, suggestions/advice?

thanks.

You're probably going to need a plank.  For what its worth I wouldn't dare to bring my daughter in the ice now in CT unless it was below freezing.  Ill check some ice when I get back from work and let you know.

Hopefully we’ll get some good news for Saturday.

But I agree with I.A. about not taking any kids out, it’s just too late/way too risky for that at this point in time.

Consider taking her for a ride up to the Berks rather than chancing it. Not much farther than NW corner and prob much safer ice. Call Onota Boat Livery in Pittsfield and they'll give you info on ice conditions in that area.

Fished lake waramaug today, looking rough, edges are ready to go at any time now ice was pretty beat up.
Was able to get on near campsite area and had some action, but I think it's a wrap for that place.

Had 6 inches of ice at mt. Tom. Did have to use a board to get on though.

no boards needed on twin today or all week, 10 + inches most spots.  I got my 19 month old out twice this week, and he's hooked, though only good for about 45 min.  I would not take him on the ice if i thought it was questionable.

my daughter was 21 months old on her first trips, she was hooked until age 12.
