Has anyone ever used the St. Croix Mojo 36 inch light ice rod (or the older model Premier) AND the St. Croix Avid Glass 34 inch light ice rod? Just looking for a comparison on the action of the rods. I have the St. Croix Premier 36 inch ice rod and the Mojo appears to be the model that replaced the Premier. IMO the Premier rods have a rather stiff action for their stated action and the Mojos are similar. So I was wondering if the Avid Glass light ice rods are a bit more flexible than the Mojo? How about the tip section on the Avid Glass ice rods? Does it appear to me more flexible or less flexible than the Mojo? Is there a decent "backbone" on the Avid Glass? Thanks.

I just ordered the Mojo Light 36". I liked the idea of having reel seat on the mojo as apposed to using rubber bands or tape to hold the reel on the Avid.

mojo is a feel the bite, light carbon rod - faster action, more power
avid is a see the bite glass rod - moderate action, less power at the tip end

My Premier Medium 28" is like a pool cue compared to my Mojo Medium Light 28".

the avid glass is basically a noodle rod but with a little more action in the back end of the blank.

Not realy an answer to your question but the Mojo 36" M is a great Laker rod.
Just add water.

The medium power for St. Croix Rods are generally one power up when compared to other rods of medium power from other manufacture.

If you want a softer medium rod or in general a slight less power.  Look at the new Okuma Cold Water Ice rods.  They're like a mimic of the St. Croix Mojo Rods reel seats, line guides, line guide spacing.
