Title: Milwaukee power source on digital fish finder?
Post by: prospector on Feb 25, 2017, 07:45 PM
Just curious if anyone uses their Milwaukee power source adapter to run digital units? I have used mine to run the old-style flashers but I'm a little concerned to use it on my LX 9. I know it will work in the short-term, but don't want to cause damage in the long term. If anyone has any experience with this, please chime in. Thanks, prospector

I ran a Lowrance Mark 5x for around 20 hrs straight on a xc 4.0 pack. There was no damage, a fishing buddy uses the Milwaukee power source exclusively for his kayaks electronics all summer, with no issues. I use it for all the power in my shack including: shack lights, fans, phone, aqua-vue and anything else i can think of... I even ran my vex off it once last season. I use a 1200 in/lb Milwaukee drill with a a 8" Mora to punch holes. So its a no brainer for me since i always bring extra batteries anyway. There are a couple ways to get power from the Milwaukee power source, one is a USB and the other is a DC barrel port. The USB output is good enough for a cell phone, but a tablet or Ipad is too much and will cause the power source to get very hot. I started building my own DC barrel cords that work really well for the higher amperage loads.
