Water has been pretty murky, but better yesterday. Saw five, missed twice. They were coming in from deep, be!ow my visibility, and sinking back down. Rushed my shots( plus I'm quite rusty). Things should be getting better.

I am 3 for 5 for the season so far. Lack of Ice is really limiting me. That is changing this week -15 this morning

Season has been limited to reruns of You Tube Videos on Pike Spearing..... should have ice by the weekend with a little luck!

I have been out twice and have seen 10. Two have been in the 12-15lb class, beautiful fish.

I am lucky in that the lake I am sitting on has extremely clear water, saves a bunch on the eyes.

I had wanted to go out tomorrow but with -15 temps and 25mph winds, I think I am going to feed the wood stove in the house.

I have been out 3 times and have only seen one pike and it wasn't interested in my decoy.
I think I will move out deeper since the water is pretty clear.

Finally stuck one tonight! I was beginning to think I forgot how to do it. Been seeing quite a few, but kept missing (3). The water is still quite cloudy though.

I have ben out 2 times seen 2 but both short. and one lake was like fishing in coffee. 2 ft. down and I could barely see the fins on my deke. Now, not to hijack the thread., is it typical to have cloudy water early in the season on some lakes? I speared this lake 2 years ago, and could see bottom at 7 ft , and it was later in the season, cause I had just stared spearing. prolly mid feb.

I will have to look at my notes later but I am around 46-48 for the season. I have prolly let 80-90ish swim through without a scratch. Im trying to be picky this year.
Can't spear em from the Couch!
