Title: Hamlin Pond
Post by: lowaccord66 on Jan 06, 2016, 02:04 PM
Not a normal stop for me but close to work.  I thought the amount of junk on this ice was quite laughable!  If you fish here you may want to avoid drilling in front of the launch!!!  (the stuff will be floating sunday and will probably refreeze in that area)

Hah, I remember hiking around ponds as a kid and it was always a big thrill to throw stuff out on the ice...no idea why, but it seemed like fun at the time.

I can understand the logic of tossing a rock, but sticks and loose soil? Makes you shake your head.

I used to love Crescent...before they opened it....the bass fishing was unreal.  After it was opened the fishing declined so rapidly, I saw quite a few large bass taken home.

Hamlin is my after work spot. Never really caught anything great but usually the little gills are biting on the jigs. Even if they're small I'm still having fun!

The ice there freezes funny... We had a member fall through last year. Lots of running water under the ice. Be careful there...

I don't get the logic (or the humor) of throwing ANYTHING on the ice.

It's not an accurate/safe way of testing the thickness of the ice....

....And eventually everything on the surface will wind up on the lake's bottom.

Little Kids might not know any better, but anyone over the age of ten to twelve should.....ridiculous.

It was awesome before the bucket brigade took a lot of great fish out of there. Had one of my best days there for late ice. Blew through 2 dozen shiners in an hour and a half. I was even putting dead shiners back on the hook. It was lights out.
