A thank you to IS members

A big thank you to all Ice Shanty members that offered assistance and advice in my bobhouse rescue. Thanks to the generous outpouring of expertise, equipment, and manpower of some old friends and some new friends, the bobhouse was on solid ice in one hour and forty minutes total time. I would have been lost without all the help and I stand ready to pay it forward! Included are a few pics of the rescue and a pic of JimB who spent the afternoon fishing with me . . . actually teaching me how to catch whities. The pic is of his first one, about one minute after his line hit the water.

Great to see you out, efficiently at that!
I am wondering for future reference, how much ice you last measured and when.  How many holes you had that opened into that big one. And how much ice you have right there around the hole?

Ice was 8-10 inches all around us. The only two holes freshly opened nearby were the ones we fished through the house. Its a learning curve, I guess. Next time we get a 60 degree day with torrential rain predicted, I'm not opening any holes around the house.
