Trout/Salmon
« on: Mar 16, 2017, 03:38 PM »
Seeing how Vt's trout season closed yesterday and NH's goes to the end of March, just wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a decent trout/salmon water in NH.  Not looking for spots, just bodies of water.  Still have the hard water bug!!  Any info would be appreciated.

Salmon cannot be taken through the ice in NH. Check the regs. Lakes managed for salmon/lake trout have a 2 trap limit. Other lakes under general rule allow six traps. The NH fish and game website has a pretty good breakdown of the lakes with depth and species listed. Lots of NH lakes/ponds are also considered trout ponds which are closed to all ice fishing.

Thanks Zwigg, I was unaware about no Salmon in NH but now that I think about it, I've heard that for Maine also I think.  Will probably skip it this year but maybe I'll get over next year.

I believe you can catch salmon through the ice in Maine.

Now I'm wondering, can we take salmon after April 1 through the ice?
