The delta is north of Portage La Prairie.  Most access the site via the U of M ressearch station.  Twin Beaches is north of Wpg on highway #6

Twin is at St. Laurent.
Its easier to beg forgiveness than it is to get permission

If the snow conditions alow, you can access the lake with a 4x4 at most places.  Last year we where driving around at Oak Point (just north of Twin).  I have also seen vehicles on the ice at Twin.  But if there is a good north wind....which we are due for, the access is pretty much foot or snowmobile.  The many pressue ridges on these lakes can also make vehicle traffic sketchy.
