Winter insects/flies
« on: Dec 23, 2006, 10:16 PM »
sometimes when trout fishing is slow I tie a fly 2-3 ' up my line from my bait/lure for extra temptation/action. does anyone know what type of flies/insects are available for trout to feed on in the winter in a small western MB lake?  ;) I know that backswimmers, minnow, and leech immitations are usually active, but are there any others I could try?
