If you are out this way, and don't mind another hours drive north, you would not be disappointed in going to twin lakes for tigers.  It would be well worth the extra drive, IMO. Chances are at any other trout lakes in the area you may get a few at best, but you could likely times that by a factor of 10 at least at twin.  You can't beat it; lots of action, beatiful fish, and they put up one hell of a fight.  As for other lakes, I know east and west goose in Roblin have decent ice conditions I believe, not sure of any of the lakes closer to Russell. Good Luck, and if you do go to twin, you don't even need good luck, the fish will do the work for you.  ;D  I will most likely be going there again this weekend too.

Man, Twin lake is really on fire these days. :o

Will the tiger trout action stay like that all winter or is this just a peak time?

Since Twin lake is an artificial only lake, what are good artificial lures for tigers?

How far is Twin Lake into the Duck Mountains from the Sask {Madge Lake area}. border?

Which lake area do you fish at the North basin of Twin Lake or the South basin?

Is this lake aerated and if so how is the ice conditions?

Are there any hotels/motels to stay at near by?

First ice seems to be best, but the action should be steady for most of the winter.

For Tigers you can try just about anything, I usually use small tube jigs.

How far is Twin Lake into the Duck Mountains from the Sask {Madge Lake area}. border?
Approx 10-15 km

Which lake area do you fish at the North basin of Twin Lake or the South basin?
South basin only, I haven't had any luck personally in the north basin

Is this lake aerated and if so how is the ice conditions?
The lake is aerated but they should have the danger zone roped off.

Are there any hotels/motels to stay at near by?
Roblin Route 83 Motel-(204) 937-2411

If you stay at this motel you can walk to the goose lakes for some decent trout action.
Do be careful on these lakes as ice can thin out very quickly as you get closer to the open water.
Good luck and be safe. ;D
