How do you set nets on 10" of snow?  Are they netting rabbits?

Fishermen set nets on Lake Manitoba when there is hardly enough ice to walk on. Some years it gets warm and the whole thing goes south.

I'm with BGF & call BS   .

I don't care how light they are, they're not walking on 10" of snow  ::)... and yes, I know they go out from Twin, etc., as soon as they can & end up losing everything on a semi-regular basis.

Let's hope that snow blows off and the ice stays put ?

Don't think they would catch much on land, except the rabbits mentioned earlier. ;) ;)

I think your the dumb one, we're all poking fun at your post, you don't even realize it.  What on earth does 10" of snow have to do with setting nets........your post was worded such that you were implying they were setting nets on 10" of snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Good on ya!

Give the guy a chance to correct himself. Now how much ice is there at the Narrows? I am sure the commercial fisherman have hit it hard already which is good for them. What has been the result?
Enjoy life now!!!! Get on the Hardwater before it melts away!!!

I'm really confused now... are you saying that they're stupid or not (because I know which way I'm leaning if they're setting their nets on land... )?

OK, I'll play along... what'd they catch through the 10" of snow, then  :-\? Wait, I just had an epiphany... if they're hitting them hard like you say, BW, can you imagine how much better they'd do if they set them in the lake and not wherever they're setting now !!! Someone should go find out if the ice is thick enough out there for them  ;).

Already 2 attempts to make a correction. But not a mention of the ice thickness. And I am positive that is what most of us are interested in.

So "PLEASE". Can you tell us,how thick is the ice at the Narrows. :icefish:
