Got out this past weekend

Got out to a perch lake this weekend. No jumbos caught bit a few little dinks... water was very murky. Only about 12" of visibility. Ice was about 5-6"

I wonder if the lake is just murky from the pre winter turn over.   You were out and caught some little guys so that had to be fun.

I went to a brookie lake that I was hoping to get monsters but got smaller fish...oh well.  They were willing!  Hit up Pigeon and got a couple of walleye. 

Next up, Pigeon but looking for whites.  Hope to find a small herd due to this early season conditions.  Ice at Pigeon was a solid 6 inches from my experience and sounds like from others.   Should grow some more this weekend and plan to put a skidoo on this time.

Can you have stray little perch? or do they usually school up always? (apart from march when theyre spawning) so if youre getting some small ones then it means theyre travelling together and there could be bigger ones?
