im just curious as to what you all use under your tip ups? i seem to have the best luck with suckers but i know a lot of guys who perfer shiners or fatheads.

I generally mix it up, but if I'm fishing a lake that I know has a certain kind of bait in abundance I'll match the hatch. ie. my favorite walleye lake has a lot of white suckers in it so I will use 3-4" sucker minnows if I can get them.

i been mixing it up this year for early ice, and all my eye's have came on suckers. pretty much any size but the larger 4'' + has been doing better than the smaller ones.
havent got them to touch my artificials yet ><
depends on the hatch/lake.
