Question about fishing close to shore...
« on: Dec 18, 2014, 06:57 PM »
Just wondering if anyone here has luck fishing for panfish close to the shore this time of year? The lake in my area has some blown over tree tops that are submerged not very far off the shoreline in about 5 feet of water. Would these be good spots to try?

When we have first ice we fish shallow (2 to 5 ft.) then as the winter goes along we go deeper. Some times as deep as 19 ft. But last ice and a raise in water level has put us right in the shallows again. Hope this helps. It doesn't hurt to try off the wall kind of stuff in fishing. Nothing is cast in stone as they say.
