LOOKING DOWN
« on: Jan 21, 2021, 07:40 PM »
Does anyone position their camera above their jig and look down?  Seems to me that it would solve the problem of spinning cameras and would be a lot like sight fishing.  It would also allow you to put the camera and your jig in the same hole.

I would think your line with a fish on would get wrapped around the camera cable.  I have wrapped around another line in a separate hole 3' away.

if you didn't pull it you'd get what I call a humdinger.  aka forced retie. lol  could be way worse on big fish. SNAP

I use three holes: middle hole for camera only and outer holes for rods and sonar.  My only real complaint with pointing the camera down is missing fish since sometimes they blend in so well it makes seeing them hard.

Ive notice fishing over heavy weed beds I tend to not see perch or bass all that offend. Maybe I have the camera too high above the lures, Im not sure. All I see is my lure disappear and I set the hook. I really like the side view with the camera and recently bought a marcum camera panner on amazon for around $30 and I think this will be a game changer.
