West Hill 1/31
« on: Jan 31, 2008, 08:22 PM »
Nice day, sunny, almost no wind, 8 inches of ice.
On ice at 1 PM to 5 PM, only 5 guys out on the ice, mostly tip-ups.
Very very Slooooooow!
Me, 2 tip-ups and 2 jigging holes.
Caught 1 small Large Mouth and 1 small Chain Pickerel around 4 PM, jigging.

I went there Saturday about 1:00 PM and my nephew set up the tip ups off the beach and we then started jigging. I had one hit and no flags. My nephew kept telling me that the parties out about two -three hundred yards were getting trout but no big ones. For some reason there are more pickerel being caught there this year.
On the way to the lake my nephew stated that he could see the fishermen at Pond's out fishing on the ice. Pay the money to park there and fish on the lake. Good luck. It is a beautiful lake.
