Trout at night
« on: Jan 27, 2022, 06:33 PM »
One of my goals this season is to get on the ice more at night. Already tried Mashapaug once this week for eyes and big catfish; came home with the skunk.

Was wondering if anybody has had success with trout at night, not necessarily at Mash. In my limited night experience it’s been a bit of a slog

I'm with you perchman. I've been wanting to try that for a while. I live close to Crystal in ell. Not sure if it's worth it. Although I know the browns come into the shallows at nite

I catch rainbows all summer long at night with a green light but in the winter I’ve only caught crappie at night.

I get them frequently.  More rainbows than browns oddly enough.

I get plenty of Rainbows at night while Walleye fishing by mistake. Also got my biggest Brown while night fishing at Coventry years ago in 3fow. So I think if it was a Trout lake you could do well.
