Hi guys, i know its a bit late but thought i would post anyways. I went out to wood creek pond on Saturday. there was 3 inches of black ice with a few softer spots. I didn't get there until about 8:00 and there was a group of guys out already. they were positioned at the mouth towards the large swampy part of the pond. they had a bunch of tipups out and said that they got a few medium sized bass early in the morning. I was set up on the right-middle side of the pond in roughly 6-8 feet of water. Tried jigging with meal worms and had tipups with mealworms out and got skunked. At least i got out for first ice so i had a good day anyways.
