Problems with Eskimo Sierra pole latches
« on: Jan 20, 2018, 06:00 AM »
Brand new Eskimo Sierra thermal locking mechanism on extension pole breaks. The pin fell out.  Parts are out of stock makes me think this is a real issue. Has anyone heard about this?  How well do you think Eskimo warranty this. Anyone dealt with them on warranty issue?

I have the same issue but the pin didn't even fall out, it just didn't come with the internal pin. Very annoying and not easily fixed if they don't have the part.
Got get out there to gettem' in there.

I contacted Eskimo and they were good about replacing the parts at no cost. Still, the latch itself is flawed in that when opened on its side the small pin can fall out easily. Surprisingly terrible design. I am going to put silicone internally where the small pin is on each latch and I think it will keep it in place.

Got get out there to gettem' in there.

That's a good idea. I should of had more patience,  I'm sure it will be a good shelter.
