Thats quite nice, Maine would tax it as a water front lodge. Wondering about the wheels in deeper snow, skis for my wheels and beer for my brothers. Beautiful job.

Nice shanty Gamedog. I wish we didn't have so much snow on our lakes so I could pull mine with my ATV. We got snow early and it really screwed the lakes up around here. We have 30" of ice now and my pickup has been working fine for me. Time to head out for a few days again if this wind ever goes down.

Gamedog...are you still open to giving some pointers.  I know this is a year old, but I came across it when I signed up today.  A buddy and I are in the process of trying to build an ice house and yours is the IDEAL set up we are looking for!!!  We both have young kids and want to get them out of the elements.  Thank you for your time in advance!!!

Just read all posts, View all your pics, WOW, Great place to fish out of. I will now sharpen the pencil, & get myself drafting up a "lodge" similar to yours. It probably won't be as fancy as yours. I have an old slide in camper W/a stove & heater (& a sink if heated right) I can use for accessories. I need a better look at the "Drop down" Frame...                 Nice Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Always,take the kids

Nice  job on the ice hut and thanks for posting the pic's. I was thinking about building a drop down hut also but was worried about mounting the hubs to the springs. I thought the hubs would twist if they are just mounted on the springs causing the wheels to rub on the side of the trailer. I guess this isn't a problem.

10-4, thanks for the tip. I going to build an enclose trailer/ice hut it will be used mainly to haul a couple of dirt bikes + some gear around. But I would like enough room to transport the atv inside the hut until I get to the hard water then use the atv to pull the trailer onto the ice and leave my pick up on solid ground.

I know this is an older thread, but I was curious if the wire used for the outlets, lights etc. is the same used for standard 110 home use or is it 12 volt. I am in the process of building a shanty on an old pop-up camper trailer 6x12. Any info would be appreciated.

trailer brake wire it is insulated for each line and has an outer cover  kinda like home wire    you can get it at uhaul  or reputable camper dealers   steeper than 14 ga lamp cord but worth it esp where it is color coded

I have a bunch of 110 14-2 laying around so I guess I will use that then. I just bought the siding a few days ago. I will be posting photos as I go. Thanks for the info everyone. ;)2

I am making a shanty this year and had a couple of questions about yours.  I think I read in an earlier post that you have a satellite or T.V. antenna something to pick up T.V.?  If that is true what kind did you use and did you have to pay for the channels?  I was looking at the $48 one on the fish house supply website and it didn't really give as much info as I wanted and was wondering if you had this kind if you could give me some info on it.  Another question is do you run all the lights and everything else you use run on batteries?  If it does, how many do you have, what type and approximately how long does it/they last?  If you could answer these questions I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks
