Title: Otter sled runners
Post by: prospector on Feb 14, 2016, 01:10 PM
Thought you guys might be of help. Can't seem to find any stores that have runners in stock for an otter magnum sled.  Just bought myself a new lodge and need to tweak it out. I appreciate any ideas  on where to find them. tight lines, prospector

Something to keep in mind, the runners add a lot of weight.  If I were to do it over I wouldn't put ones on mine, definitely adds to the durability of the bottom, but the weight gain sucks.

It does add weight but my sled pulls way easier with them on.

They may be tough to find this time of yr, they're usually plentiful early on in the season. You might want to wait until next fall to start looking.

Thanks guys. I did find some at Scheels and put them on last night. They had another set if anyone needs some.

FYI, I used old hyfax runners off of snowmobiles. They are plastic and lightweight. Most any dealer or rental shop will have old ones lying around at the end of the season if they haven't tossed them already. Mine were free since they are pretty much worthless except for this sorta thing.
