Pike in Webster Lake ??

Has anyone caught or know anyone who caught one recently ??

I know when the state re did the sonar maps , they didn't list pike as a species found in the lake.

I know of a 36" one a year or two ago. They are few and far between. I wouldn't bother targeting them there.

Rare to catch them in Webster Lake. It's not very often you hear of them being caught from that lake.

Agreed. Rare. Saw a picture of a 9 pounder caught last spring - so rare, but possible...

I use to catch pike in Webster lake in the early 90 s . It was pretty consistent back then we use to fish south pond in on the swamp side by point breeze. Haven't heard of many pike these days. Good luck. You never know.

Awesome share.  For some guys its more consistent than others, however to agree with Bojango...there are other options somewhat close where I would go first.

January 1994.  Just got out of the Marine Corps.  Moved to Boston to go to college.  Guy at work asked me if I fished.  I said that's all I do.  I'm from Oklahoma, had no idea about ice fishing.  He said you're allowed 5 holes.  I showed up with five 6-7' rods.  The crew of guys all spent the day laughing at me.  They each gave me a trap, and I fell in love.  My redneck friends back home still don't understand.  That day we caught large and smallmouth.  3 big rainbows.  Perch the size of footballs.  And I landed my first Northern.  Maybe only 32", but the addiction was immediate.  over a couple years I did see 40"er's caught on Lake 34 letters.  But nothing in recent years.  I'd have to think there are still a few in there.  My addiction for pike keeps me now on Messalonskee, etc..., but Webster is great.  Kind of like Cochituate.  You never now what it will be, when the flag goes up.  Put the time in.  Definitely worth it.....

I fish Webster very regularly and I have never landed a Pike. I know they haven't stocked them since the early 90's so you might find some but they are few and far between. In the last 10 years i've fished it I've never caught a pike.

Many people have landed pike there.  They do reproduce and there are some big ones.  Or...there are none there and no one catches them...depends on your experience it seems...

I saw a guy 4 years ago land a small one at Waterfronts. Maybe they are reproducing in there.

I try to target them with at least 2 tilts but haven't had any luck.

Yup I remember that as well.

Funny story about I lake I used to fish alot.  When I started fishing it locals would ask what for and laugh when I said pike...then tell me it was fished out. Someone landed a 28 there last week.  I landed a 30...and know of 4 others over 20lbs (that I personally saw) and one over 25 that I landed for a friend..yet its probably one of the least pressured pike waters in Mass.  Now even with that the 400 something hours I put in after landing the 45" L 24" girth 25lbers...I only landed an 11 pounder and the monster I previously posted...doesnt mean they are far and few between...just means I did a poor job catching!

I think most people think the pike are gone from the lake so they don't bother which leads to less anglers trying for them leading to less reported catches...I wasted a couple of hours on webster Monday looking for them..if I thought they were gone i wouldnt have tried

Right on.  Id probably give it a shot if it wasn't so far in the opposite direction.  I always liked fishing the lakes that had a reputation for lackluster pike fishing.  Hard to do a quarter mile spread on Onota  ;D

There's no pike in there.  I remember this one.  Very healthy specimen.
