First day out on the ice... and a beauty of a day except for the breeze... Had 6 inches ice in a quiet cove and we stayed right in that cove as the thickness dropped off really fast to 3" or less. Good ice.
Caught a little slimedart to get on the board for the season. Grilled a steak and had a ball! A little slick for the dogs, but they managed. I was surprised to be fishing at all, as we passed open lake after open lake. These nights should build some ice and we will all be on ice real soon.
