You strap your Fish Trap and Jiffy to the roof while you move to Montana

I finally made it out here, got my fishing stuff, guns, brewing gear, and guitars...dont think I need much else besides my waterfowl decoys. Went and did a little recon work at the area ponds and went up to hyalite seen a few guys out, went to a fly shop and wholesale sports today inquiring about ice fishing....pretty sure they thought I was high for even considering ice fishing... so as soon as i land me a job i'll be able to afford the non-res license. Looking forward to meeting some of you on the ice around Bozo... take care! _ Justin

Welcome aboard! I grew up fishing Lake Minnetonka. There's great ice opportunity around Bozeman.

Welcome to the Big Sky. I'm a St. Croix river rat living and recrereating on the Mighty Mo. for 10 yrs now. You'll love the opportunities here but you'll probably be drivin more than you're used to.

Looks like there are quite a few MN natives around here...lookin' like im gonna hike up into Lava lake tomorrow morning with the girlfriend to check it out...wont be doing any fishing which might kill me...but I made a strict no fishing until I find work rule... in case your wondering we are using the clam as our living room love seat! haha

Welcome, I was born in northern Minnesota and moved to Montana when I was 9. I also lived in Bozeman for a year, it's a good place but Missoula would have been a better choice if you are into icefishing and girls as Bozeman is a little scarce on both. But, Bozeman is still a cool town and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Was born in Clearwater MN. Moved out here when I was 9 but I still go back to visit for the fishing only.Ice or summer.Last year I was ice fishing kicking back with the rattle reals watching the VIKINGS play and ordered pizza on the lake, and catching walleyes how do you beat that.

Broke down and bought a license... tried hyalite for a few hours than went out to the bozeman beach for a couple hours after dark....pretty slow, hopefully tomorrow produces, but it sure beat sitting in my apartment twiddling my thumbs.

I was coureous about hyalite this year I have always had good luck up there.Plus I grew up pretty close to there.I was suprise they are plowing it again this year.
