I must be if that's all I left the house with this morning. It felt like I was missing something as I loaded up the sled. Went to a small mud puddle just up from the house that supposedly had crappie and white perch. I'm not convinced they are in there. Caught 10-15 4-6" y.p and mainah caught the only crappie of the day at a whopping 3". Smallest crappie I've ever seen. Punched holes all over one end of the puddle and marked fish but couldn't find anything of size. Be crossing that one off the list.

Your not sick, you're streamlined.  Feels good to travel lighter.  Traps were hard for me to ditch at first, then I realized how much they were holding me back.  Takes a minute to adjust, but traps are like being anchored in one spot.

Having alot of lookers, but trying to find lure selections and combos that work drives me nuts. If I'm panfishing. I'll probably ditch the traps or maybe keep 1-2 just to bait as teasers. Coldwater species I'll still be bringing them just cause. I might wanna just sit back and relax

Glad to see you had good ice to fish. I called it down here, not worth taking another late season swim.
We got to hook up next year and put some on ice together

Ditch that jiffy for a lighter auger and you'll really be cooking.

We will be fishing up here for a bit. Still have 24+.

Thinking about it. But for now it works

I've had bad luck on small ponds in the spring with a lot of run off and dirty water. Places I had done well on a few weeks before it warmed up.
