Not always, too busy pursuing perch and gills during the day..    When the ice is only good near shore in shallow water I mostly go at dusk and into the night, seems to provide the best action.

Great videos Iceshanty. They sure look familiar,and even more ready for ice fishing now. What were you using on your tip-up for the walleye? I like to use a minnow or shiner, center punched.

I believe that video was taken on Shawano Lake so I was more than likely fishing open holes in the millfoil weedbeds around 6-10' feet of water, the set-up consists of 2lbdia.-10lb spiderwire leader with a number 10 treble and using 4-6" golden shiner for bait set 4' under the ice.
