Title: Nils

For those looking for a better blade cover for your 6" nils the lazer auger cover fits perfect. You don't feel like you are going to cut your fingers off putting it on and removing it. I didn't mind the yellow one that came with it but this one protects it way better.

Better yet is the Cold Snap one, no rubber straps to break....

Better Yet:

Use the yellow cover with magnets & throw away the strap

Does cold snap make a cover for the 6"? Im using the strikemaster cover right now but some how the tabs on the inside are cut off due to the sharpness of the blades after I got them back from Frank Deluca.

No only the 8", as far as the magnet trick I was going to but didnt after Frank ( sharp Nils ) advised against it due to the magnets potential to nick an edge....

I'm not sure if Cold Snap makes a 6" Nils cover yet but the 8" locks onto the Nils pretty good.
The magnets.  Its a shame to have blades come in for sharpening that were dulled from the cutting edge coming in contact with the magnets.
I put a piece of duct tape over the magnets. It gives them a little protection and should be replaced often.

Good tip about the tape over the magnets. I wanna try this.  The strap thing does suck in my opinion.

This, if your worried about blade damage, make sure you don't place the magnets where the cutting edge is, just move them back toward the center of the cover a bit, works really well.

Any kind/brand of magnet work better than others?  Thanks.

Called up Cold Snap about the Nils cover. The guy said the the Strikemaster cover is the exact same for the Nils.
Bought the Strikemaster Cold Snap. I can confirm, the 8" Strikemaster does fit the 8" Nils!

I think he is talking about the Nils 6" hand auger.
