I suspect the dock runner to be all fiberglass. I don't know but I have two of them.
They are brutes...good flex and good toughness. It's the secret ice fishing rod. I did junk the reels. If they actually make a light power version of it or even an UL, it would truly be the ultimate secret ice fishing dead stick rod.
Mills Fleet Farm at one time, did have some 4' yellow Ugly Stick UL versions for kids. They came with super cheap wire line guides so I didn't buy any of them. I think they only had three line guides too.
