Title: Keelers Ice?
Post by: FlyPredatorVT on Jan 03, 2019, 07:24 AM
Hi folks!

Just curious if anyone has ventured out on Keelers and if they have what the conditions are like. It would be a fun weekend to run tip ups!

Thanks!

Been people on the flat fishing grounds off Lavigne road the last few days. Nobody out further than the point.

Seems to be decent ice in the swamp, a few guys there. I checked out the boat ramp but about 300 yards out the ice is only about 2.5”. I headed elsewhere.

The ice is starting to thicken up on Keeler. Went to the boat launch today and the ice extends about 300-400 yards. Pretty thick ~6" nearshore but obviously thins out. Ice runs from the boat launch south to the small part of the bay. Open water to the east surrounding Kellogg Island.
