strike master electra lazer 12000
« on: Dec 25, 2003, 10:44 AM »
Has any one used this auger? any advantage to being quiet? Can they be used on lakes where power augers are not allowed? How long will the supplied battery pack last on 8" ice? Any info will be a help.

I have the new Strikemaster 1200DP electric, 8 inch, and I absolutely love it. The ice has only been about 8 inches thick, but I was out the other day and drilled about 40 holes, and it still had plenty of juice. I have no doubt it would perform just fine in thick ice, the obvious advantage is that if the battery does go dead, you can hook it up to your truck, atv, or snowmobile battery, and if you're on thick ice, I doubt you'll be walking anyway.

They're $350 for the 8 inch pretty much anywhere you look, Thorne Brothers sold me one at the St Paul Ice show for $320.

Ahh....IC.  The guy was asking about the Electra Lazer 12000 and that's what's for sale on Sportsman's Guide.  I just double-checked to be sure.  I'm going gas myself, but thought I would pass on the info to someone that's looking at the electric augers.

Take care.
