Lithium NMC battery.
« on: Nov 14, 2022, 10:08 AM »
Has anyone used or have personal/expert knowledge of the Lithium NMC ( Nickle Magnesium Cobalt ) battery? They are lighter and have longer run times than their Lithium LiFePO4 sister, but apparently aren't as safe...for whatever reason. At least I'm not finding it. I'm guessing overheating.  ???

Depth of Discharge for an NMC battery is 80 to 90% without harming it, where DoD for an LFP battery is 100% without harming it. NMC batteries start losing power in 3 to 4 years from what I have read.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

Have not seen a difference safety wise in either battery and I sell both. Better runtime on them as they start at 16 volts and shut off at 12.
