2017 Helix 5 chirp SI GPS G2 use for ice fishing

Anybody ice fishing a Si unit with the xnt 9 SI 180T transducer?  I understand it ia possible but cant figure it out...making me wonder if it really is possible.  Thanks.

I assume that you could.  I don't think you can use the flasher mode with that transducer.  You'd have to just use the 2D sonar graph, and turn the chart speed up to the fastest setting.  I could be wrong, so someone please correct me if necessary.

You can use it if you can get the transducer to hang level. As Blakemohr said, it will be 2d only as the SI has to be moving to work. Don't know about "ice mode" but expect it will be fine. I have an older 598 which I think uses the same transducer. I was much happier when I got the correct ice transducer for it, though.
Maybe someday I'll think of something clever to write here...but I doubt it.
