Vexilar Fl 8se 19 or 9 degree
« on: Jan 26, 2004, 11:11 AM »
Which transducer is better to use with the Vexilar FL-8SE.
The one I purchased came with the 19. I generally fish in water depths between 10 and 30 feet. May also add that I am impressed by the thoughtfulness demonstrated by the people on this site from lost loved ones, to lost traps to offers of help.

Hey,   I have the vl-18 with dual ducer with 9 and 19 degrees.   I use the 19 deg at 12 feet and under and anything deeper than that, i'll got to the 9 deg cone so i can see better on the bottom.  Sometimes i switch to 19 in deep water to see if there is anything out there suspended.  Another option was to get the 12 degree ducer which is an half a$$ed compromise in my opinion.  but I if you don't want to spend extra money,  it might be ok for you.     J.
