Thsi isn't my fish, but it was caught in the lake I icefish all the time, this lake produces monsters. Jim lambert caught this 27# tiger, "I was fishing for Pike and Tigers on 4''-6'' of ice off the weed edge in 8'-15' of water. (5 tip-ups in Mass.) 3 baited with live 6''-8'' pond shiners, 2 with 10''-12'' dead pond shiners. The trap in 15' went up at 9:15, after a 2 hr. wait. The fish took a dead shiner and ran off 320ft. of line, I set the hook and after a 30 min. fight, landed a 27# 0 oz. Tiger Musky -The fish is the new World Record, Ice Fishing, Tip-up, and the new Massachusetts All Tackle State Record. " awesome fish, I wish I could catch one as big as this.

Are you sure its the world record? Some guy named potter caught one in colorado at quincy reservoir that was 53". I don't know the weight but I believe it is more than 27 lbs. I will check though. This wasn't icefishing though. Are you saying it is the icefishing world record?

Are you sure this is the tiger world record on ice?  My buddy caught one 49" through the ice two years ago.  Never got it weighed, though.  We just figured it was a heck of a fish!  That would suck if he had an ice record!

Wow that is one heck of a nice fish, Im just hoping to get one over 30 inches this year,  Ive iced a lot of smaller ones but nothing over 30 inches yet.

fishuhalik - that is the world record through ice. Your buddy's might of had a chance but it does go by weight.

Yeah, I know they go by weight.  I don't know the exact weight on the fish, but I am a pretty good estimater, & I would of thought that fish would have gone in the upper 20s or maybe 30.  It was a heck of a fish.  Either way, that was a dandy, & if you ever see that guy again, give him a slap on the back for me.  I'm still trying to break 20lbs on tigers in open water!
