Yes, I think that I need one as well.

Question:  Does anybody know if way points stored on a Humminbird are transferable to the Garmin?

I think this will be great to share between two guys in one shack as well.  With 8+ft in each direction, two guys could be sitting 6ft away from each other, and both be using one unit.  It's a little big and bulky, but boy, is it sweet!  I need this.

You could probably keep an eye on what is happening to a tip-up outside the hut as well, depending upon the distance.

Any interference issues with other units?

I’m looking for ANY reason NOT to purchase this unit. LOL

It is expensive, but LiveVu Down alone (Not to mention forward) seems to make ALL other units obsolete.....almost like the $1800 price tag is a bargain.

I haven't heard of any interference issues. If you already have a garmin head unit and only need the ps22 transducer, garmin has a $200 mail in rebate on it this month. I'm just waiting for Cabela's cashback to hopefully hit 10% before I buy mine! :-D

Just an FYI, I spoke with Garmin Customer service, and they indicated that purchasing the ice bundle would qualify for the $200 rebate.

The cheapest price I have found for the bundle is $1530……the $200 rebate would bring it down to $1330…..almost like they are giving them away (LOL).

Some of the bundles are coming with the echomap plus touch screen units!
