Has anyone checked any ice within 10 miles of Greenville?

Checked a few lakes this morning. Most had 1.5" of solid ice with another 1.5" of frozen slush on top. Ill feel more confident this next weekend.

That's on par with what I saw in the Rockford area this morning also. It seems the normal "earlier to fish lakes" have a lot more of the slushy crap on top. while the "later to fish lakes" have much less...

I checked 3 early freezers in the area and all had 1-1.5" covered by slush

Checked my lake tonight, has 3.5" of ice. Should be good to go for this weekend!

Looks like the deep freeze moves back in soon. I'd expect to see folks venturing out in bigger numbers by New Year's Eve.

Should be very close, if not ready. Still take caution, use a spud, and have your picks with you. I have been out a few times. My lake has 5".
