Planning a trip to milwaukee harbor
« on: Nov 24, 2011, 08:34 PM »
Been wanting to make a trip down from the U.P.  for a few years and making it happen this year.  Never fished browns or steelies through the ice before. Wondering which harbors are popular. Also what types of set ups are people using down there on their rods and tip ups?  Any help you guys would be great. Thanks!

Good article in ice fishing magazine,  not in fisherman,  the other one,  name escapes me at the moment.  It is in the destination section.  I have never fished there myself, but it sounds like a lot of fun.  Good Luck

I've done it a few times, mainly fished the harbor at Manitowoc. From the sounds of things, the Milwaukee harbor gets more fish and in turn more pressure. Its a good time though. What most do is a longer medium or medium heavy jig rod with 8-10lb test and a spawn sack.
