Title: Back Up Plan - Wisconsin
Post by: 1977 Walleye Guy on Dec 23, 2014, 12:01 PM
Fellow Iceheads,

My wife and I take annual trip from Christmas thru the new year.
We have always gone to a particular location in Northern Michigan ( for security purposes i have omitted where) and is where we were married on the ice last season.
Due to the weather they are receiving in that area, it is highly possible that it will not be safe ice for us this year  :'(
We are looking into making an alternate location / Plan B if you will.
I know nothing of Wisconsin, could some of you provide what area of wisconsin is in good shape ice wise?
General locations are fine - looking to save our trip / anniversary!
Any other help is appreciated .

Thank You

If you are making a Trip, i suggest the Sturgeon Bay area.  Guides are cheap up there and they can put you on Whitefish, Perch and some monster Walleyes.  Also it is Door County so there are a lot of shops, restaurants and nice places to stay.   Just my two cents

Better call for ice reports beforehand.  Been really warm here last couple weeks.
