Land Locked Chinook
« on: Jan 17, 2010, 10:15 PM »
I would like to know if anybody out there targets Chinook Salmon through the ice? I would like to know what depth, lure, etc. might work.

i have caught my share of them out of CDA lake on a boat but i dont know if the ice gets thick enough.  big lake with 2 good sized rivers flowing in and 1 big one flowing out.. it would make me nervous to be the 1st guy out on the ice.

The big lake seldom freezes enough for ice fishing....

I know of a lake up by No Tellum Creek that is completely frozen. It does have Chinook that would be safe to fish. I just don't know what to use, or any idea on the target depth. ;)
