can u trust fellow fisherman??? left a spud bar in my perm. shanty only for a few hours while i was only a little further down the ice in a portable shanty thinking nobody would bother it...wrong it was gone when i got back.... is it just me or are their some people that just want to ruin it for everybody?

The few have to ruin it for the rest of us.  I never leave stuff outside or unlocked.  I've learned the hard way a few times.

I had some guys/kids run my perm shanty down the ice about 300 yds or so a few years back.  My anchors were cut so it wasnt the wind...

It is a shame.  Cant keep some gear in there overnight like I used to.

Spuds these days.......so hard to come by........and the price of steel......more expensive than gasoline you know....... That's pathetic!

At least they didn't torch the shanty, we had 2 go that way back in the '70s. Haven't done a permanent one since. Break-ins and vandalism were bad enough. Local authorities were indifferent and more interested in us getting the charred remains off the ice.
