Not sure about a date yet . Prolly sometime in janurary spoon was there is a big winter festival one weekend , so i definately dont want to go then. We got time to work it all out.

Although I think those bars are a complete waste of $$$$$

heck if the fish aren't biting we can always drive an hour north and kill some snowshoes at my place.

Ive only fished the chanel behind the cabin. I caught a rock bass. I have heard the lake has good gills and perch.
even if the fishing sucks it should be fun to hang out with all the degenerates.

jan 25-28 is the snow fest. just looked it up on their web site.

How about the weekend before that then as a tentitive date ? I really would like to get there before the festival. The dates would be 19th , <(friday night arrival) thru sunday the 21st? Of course allot depends on mother nature.

ahh..makes not difference just as long as its not during snowfest. technicly we will be fishing after snowfest no matter when we go.

Hey guys, I just read through this thread and this sounds like a fun trip. I would be game to come up there and fish with you guys. I never fished either lake but I have bow hunted in a town called Meawataka (sp?) right near Cadillac the last few years. I just have basic equipment for ice fishing but would love to learn some things from you experts

.

If your cabin is full then no problem, I will just find some local lodging for a night or two.

i think we are looking at close to a full cabin but most of us are in southeast mich and we go out alot..feel free to pm us at anytime and see if we are going out...id be more then happy to go out. and yes..as chasers said..ive been called alot of different things..but an expert is not one of them.

No problem. Like I said in my first post, I am not looking for somewhere to stay, just looking to ice fish with guys who actually like it! I have 3 or 4 good friends who are into everything outdoors "Except Ice Fishing"! It drives me crazy. So I normally just drag my Dad out with me but he cant tolerate the cold weather anymore.

I have basic equipment a small hand auger, a few poles, a few tip-ups but no shanty (I usually rent one when I go).

Freezeout you seem local enough to meet us when we fish in our home area. I've even got an extra shanty so you don't have to rent. Anytime we go your are welcome to join. You'll have to PM us to find out lake names. We won't give them out freely on here.

I'm going to display my cool patches on my shanty. I figure thats the most visible.

I'm seriousally thinking of getting you guys a MIRC rockbass mug for Christmas. How sweet would that be ?

There has to be some place in the mall that makes custom mugs and stuff.
