Theres a good looking flat on the west side of the lake that juts out into deeper water.  We get right on the edge of that and we might have a shot at some eyes.

Man who knew that lake was so shallow.  22 feet is the deepest.

chaser..that looks alot like the layout of both mine and your favorite walleye lakes...i think between the two of us we can bring enough back to the cabin to have a decent fry.

looks like all the eyes came from the deepest spots on the lake.  We'll be finding the edges of those and making them swiss cheese.

I'm still convinced that big flat that comes straight out from west mitchell road will hold em.  The one with the vegetation marked on it.

Spoon have you explored that yet?

no i mostly fish cadillac myself. in the winter the eye bit gets tough on mitchell and cadillac. i do know in the softwater season where i marked on the map is where they hold most of the time. these lakes can be great one day and dead for a week.but at the opening of those coves on the west side is where most everyone fishes.then the deep hole on the south end is where alot of crappie guys fish. i would reccomend that you fish cadillac if you want eyes.but than again i mostly fish these lake for pannies and pike as there are some nice one in there.

and just so you guys understand how big of a lake it is its 2,580 acres.lots of walking.cadillac is 1,150 acres.

45 eyes this year?  Lucky sum-gun!  I'm 34 and still looking for my first - *blush-blush-blush* - of course my efforts have been minimal at best to this point!

i'll let you know when we have ice and the bite starts good. the chance of getting a fish 7-12lbs is very good.not the best for eating but bringing one of those through the ice is just crazy fun.

I've prolly caught close to 45 eyes this year all from various inland lakes.

I knew both of those lakes were big.  Hell Flock we should just head up the road a piece and fish a lake I know we can get some serious eyes from.  Just 1 county to the north.

yeah spoon I'd love to fish in your neck of the woods.  The wife was already b*tiching about this trip and my deer hunting trip so I don't know how far I can push it.

Sleepac you just gotta find the right lakes.

i know what you mean. just tell her its a trip for work and you can't get out of it. ;D  i try to sleep on the couch at least once a week to get my back used to it for when i push it to far.

I already told her it was for fishing.  Don't think she'd buy it if I told her it was for work.  Especially when she sees all my gear gone from the garage.  She'll let me go I'll just have to brown nose a little.

I sleep on the couch quite often.  I'm sure you know how pregnant women are.

.....  man now i'm feeling a bit guilty for that pots & pan set i bought her. ::)  ;D

Ya oughta feel bad, ya better break down this year and buy her a nice vacuum and some of those new "Swifter" mops.

While your at it ask her if she knows why brides wear white,

...... They wear white so's the dishwasher will match the refrigerator.  ::) ::) ;D  :D :D

Most ice anglers fish the big and little coves on Mitchell for pannies and pike and out in front of the campground and park on Cadillac for perch. Have fished a few TX's on the Lakes it has some good LM and SM fishin' during softwater.

Pilgrims Village gives good up to date ice and fishing reports once the season sets in. Here's the link.

So we are gonna be in the middle of the crowds.  I sense another Pontiac lake extreme ice fishing episode.

In that case I'll bring my spud and maybe my pike spear.

Yeah Quack that was a good one.  But if thats the case I should have worn a white tux.

Our "agreement" is she does all the laundry and I do the dishes.  Nothing like a family of 5 without a dishwasher.

I'm glad I'm not the only one doing this gender role reversal thing.

FS no way we could spear from the clam.  Maybe I could make some modifications to my generic shanty though.
I'll see what I can do.  I see a money making venture here if I could hook up some portable spearing shack.

See ya later architecture!!!!

maybe but the holes are too small to pull a big fish up like that.  Especially if you had a decoy running.
