Hey SD boys!
« on: Nov 16, 2004, 02:59 PM »
I am new to the forum but have some time to kill at work on most days.  I live in Vermillion (where the ice fishing usually stinks) but usually travel farther north on the weekends.  Been praying for cold weather and it sounds like we might have a cold December, its about time.  I was just wondering where any of you other SD fishermen usually fish (black hills, glacial lakes, rivers, ect.).  I can't wait to drill that first hole!

I'm in Brookings at SDSU - usually fish around there (not really a great time usually) and around home - mostly glacial lakes etc.

I'm in Rapid City,  I fish all over the black hills, Angustora, Orman Dam up by Belle Fourche.  I'm hopeing to be ice fishing up at Deerfield within the next 2 weeks.  I've heard from one of the resorts up there that they're getting ice in the coves and a lot of stock ponds are already frozen over.    Tight Lines

I live in IA, but on occasion head into SD to fish. I fish the Clark area as well as Madison area. Forecast sounds like ice fishing is right around the corner. Keep hoping.
Every plastics manufacturer claims plastics outfish livebait. So now I use livebait just for the increased challenge.

I was hunting in north central SD and most of the ponds had some ice on them if they weren't completely froze over.

My favorite Lake is Orman (Belle Fourche), but that's quite a haul for you and I don't know how it is gonna this winter with how low it is.... if it ever starts to cool off enough, I'd have my butt out on Angustora as well.... Love my walleye through the ice!

Not enough ice or time... not necessarily in that order.
