Title: Today's Weather
Post by: rivereddy on Jan 25, 2023, 11:15 AM
As of noon, NE Indy has less than 2" of snow on the ground.  It's the heart attack stuff.  Heavy, and mixed with rain, I don't think it
got cold enough aloft to all fall as snow.  The rain is more or less constant with the snow coming in waves lasting 5 minutes or so.
From the NOAHH radar it looks like the storm might be on the wane.  Driveway is not too bad.  It is SRO at the bird feeders however.
Yesterday we got a rare treat when an immature coopers hawk interrupted the party. It trapped a number of sparrows in a small hedge
and tried to go in after them.  That predator has a lot to learn...

fish on,

Been coming down really wet and heavy here since I got up at 3am, but I haven't measured it... guesstimate... 2 or 3 inches.

Forecast looks good after the snow clears out, but a week is a long way out in forecasting.

It's petering out here... still snowing, but much lighter and the flakes have gotten fine.
