I will most likely go back to Petrie Island too, once the ice is solid enough to drive on with a vehicle my spot is too far to walk.

Have a good hard water season Mr Martin, did you try fly fishing trough holes in the winter?, the reason I ask is I was wondering if it would work since we may lose the right to use real minows eventually we have to look for other options.

I did try some weighted flies and they work well on panfish.
But as for minnows it's crazzzyyy, we can't use them here in Lévis....we have to protect our trout??? just like the St-LAurent would'nt have minnows of any kind...I think they are going overboard. I don't fish much with tip-ups much anymore just jigging....
